EMFULENI LIBRARIES CLOSED DUE TO ILLEGAL INDUSTRIAL ACTION

VAAL TRIANGLE. - The municipality here has received and noted with concern reports from the users that since yesterday morning libraries, throughout its jurisdiction, have been unofficially closed by its staff.

It must be stated unequivocally that closure is occasioned by an illegal industrial action by employees without following the necessary dispute resolution mechanisms. The management of the municipality is disappointed with the conduct of the library employees, and is doing everything possible to engage and understand their concerns and grievances, to speedily resolve in order to continue to provide this essential service to our communities.

The municipality wishes to apologize for the inconvenience caused.
