WOMAN HIT AND KILLED BY BAKKIE

VANDERBIJLPARK. - A woman, believed to be in her 20's, was killed here on Friday night (19 January) on the R42 Barrage Road.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the local authorities already in attendance.

Upon closer inspection, paramedics found the badly maimed woman lying on the side of the road. The bakkie that had hit her had stopped a short distance away.

Paramedics assessed the woman and found that she had sustained numerous injuries, leaving her in a critical condition.The woman was treated for her injuries, and provided with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the woman was transported to Sebokeng Provincial Hospital for further treatment.

While on route, the woman's vital signs rapidly diminished. CPR and further advanced life support interventions were immediately initiated.

Unfortunately, after a short time in hospital, the woman succumbed to her injuries.Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
