ONE PINNED UNDER VEHICLE, TWO INJURED IN COLLISION

CARLETONVILLE. - A man was airlifted here this morning after he was pinned under a bakkie following a collision on the R500.

Shortly before 9 am, paramedics from ER24 and other services arrived on the scene where they found a collision involving two bakkies.

A man was found with serious injuries pinned underneath one of the vehicles. The local fire department had to use specialized equipment to lift the vehicle before he could be removed. Once removed, paramedics found that he sustained multiple injuries. An emergency helicopter was called to the scene to airlift him to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital.

Two other people were found on the scene with moderate injuries. They were treated on the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for further care.

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision is not yet known. Local authorities attended the scene.
