WOMAN AIRLIFTED FOLLOWING COLLISION WITH TRUCK

DENYESVILLE. - Two women sustained serious injuries when a truck collided with their vehicle here on the R716 this morning.

Shortly before 12 pm, paramedics from ER24 and Free State Emergency Services arrived on the scene where they found the vehicle on the side of the road.

It is understood that a truck crashed into the passenger side of their vehicle pushing it into four other vehicles at the intersection. No one else was injured in the collision. The driver of the light motor vehicle was extricated by paramedics. She sustained multiple injuries and was later transported to a nearby hospital. The passenger in the same vehicle had to be freed using specialized equipment. Once freed, paramedics found that she sustained severe injuries.

The ER24 Oneplan Medical Helicopter was called to the scene to airlift her to hospital.

Local authorities attended the scene.
