BEDWORTH PARK . - Thozama Ndzingi, the owner of a house here was recently forced to drive 823 kilometers from Umtata to Bedworth Park after his house got 'hijacked.'

Ndzingi allegedly left his house in the care of an estate agent who then rented he house to a tenant. Ndzingi was told by community members to immediately come back to his house as it was perishing away and the tenants were suspected of being involved in numerous illegal activities.

The tenants were frequently conducting house parties.

“These kids were seemingly operating some criminal activities," said a community member.

Upon Ndzingi’s arrival at the house, he nearly collapsed as the house was allegedly full of cellphones, iPads, and knives.

“My house had broken doors, windows, stove, nothing showed that people were living in it. They just destroyed my house,” said Ndzingi.

Police spokesperson, Captain Fikile Funda confirmed that a case of malicious damage to property has been opened.

Investigations are ongoing.
