39 ARRESTED FOR NUMEROUS ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES

MEYERTON. - Thirty-nine suspects were arrested here over the past week (05 - 11 February) for numerous illegal activities within the community.

39 suspects were arrested during a week's efforts of crime prevention, visible policing, and joint operations in partnership with Home Affairs, PRASA, the Liquor Board, Correctional Services, and the Cluster Task Team.

It is alleged that among the crimes committed and reported included poss of dagga, shoplifting, drunken driving, drunkenness, common assault, illegal immigrants, theft, malicious damage to property, as well as selling liquor without a licence.

"We would like to encourage members of the community to report all crimes and illegal activities taking place in the community to give a tip-off on 08600 10111 or SMS to 32211," said Meyerton Station Commander, Colonel Rose Radebe.
