VEHICLE PLOUGHS INTO HOUSE

BOIPATONG. - The rear bedroom of a 45-year-old woman's house was ploughed into on Sunday night (March 09) by a car on Sunday.

A case of reckless driving has been opened by the Boipatong Police.

It is alleged that two cars were involved in the accident that wrought havoc in many’s lives. A bystander claims that a white car skipped the stop street, and crashed into the house.

“The white car did not stop but crashed into the gray Audi that lost control and went through a fence and hit the back room of a house that belongs to 45-year-old Mpho Mzizir. The end result was terrible, which led to the Audi going through property, while a white car hit a pedestrian on the sidewalk. Much damage was incurred by this incident. First a child was walking on the sidewalk and was hit-and-run. Secondly the white car allegedly did not stop or apply the rules of the road," said the bystander.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Thembeka Koago confirmed that a case of reckless and negligent driving had been opened.

One suspect appeared in the Vanderbijlpark Magistrates Court on today.

“I cannot explain how I feel, but I hope and pray that the other suspects who caused all this could be arrested and brought to police books. I don’t have a place to sleep. Rain is unpredictable while there is a child that nearly lost life. It is totally unfair that motorists do not respect the laws of the road,” said Mzizi.
